Silver & Associates

By the mid–1980s, Edward Silver realized that starting his own firm was the only sure way to practice structural engineering as he saw it. Silver & Associates opened in 1986 and has since completed more than 1,200 projects in 20 states.

Designed for innovation
Our open office plan was designed to encourage collaboration and keep fast–track projects moving. Each design workstation is outfitted with the latest high–end CAD software, powerhouse hardware, and state–of–the–art gray matter.

Easy to read, easy to build
As every Silver & Associates engineer and draftsperson knows, each project must meet a single, irrefutable goal: “Easy to read, easy to build.” Those six words have made our firm a favorite with builders nationwide. We get the job done, so they can get the job done.

Exceeding expectations
Producing letter–perfect construction documents on deadline is only half the story. We are committed to developing new ways to improve structures while reducing material costs. In fact, our passion for improvement extends to every facet of our business, from clear communication with clients to continuing education for our staff.

Sharing our expertise
To ensure the next generation of engineers benefit from our real–world perspective, Edward Silver teaches advanced structural design and earthquake engineering at California State University, Northridge, and has lectured at USC’s School of Architecture.

The Train Museum Pavilion at Los Angeles' Griffith Park is the perfect marriage of architecture and engineering—and it shows. Working closely with the architect, Silver & Associates made sure the exposed steel-truss structure was stable, functional and attractive. Completely modern, yet reminiscent of traditional train stations, the pavilion shelters both vintage trains and the volunteers dedicated to restoring them.
